The Salvation Army Announces $100,000 Grant to Marshall ROC for Marshall Fire & Windstorm Recovery Efforts

(DENVER, COLORADO) – The Salvation Army Intermountain Division has directed $100,000 in emergency disaster funding to Marshall ROC – Restoring Our Community to benefit survivors of the December 2021 Marshall Fire and Windstorm. The fast-moving wildfire, fueled by extreme winds, swept through the City of Louisville, the Town of Superior, and unincorporated Boulder County, ultimately destroying more than 1,100 homes, 30 commercial structures and damaging thousands of additional homes and businesses.  More >

Front Range Soup Brigade Launches Cookbook to Benefit Marshall Fire Survivors
The cookbook launch will be held Saturday, February 10 from 1:30-3:30 pm at the Marshall Fire Recovery Center located at 357 McCaslin Blvd Suite 115-B in Louisville, CO. Soup Brigade Volunteers will be sharing their homemade soups for all to enjoy. Marshall ROC and the Soup Brigade have partnered to provide special edition hard copy Soup Brigade Cookbooks for the first 100 survivors in attendance and these local businesses have generously donated tasty treats for the event: Button Rock Bakery, Elevated Oven, Superior Costco, and Paul’s Coffee and Tea

 

 

 

 

Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) Launches Wind and Wildfire Home Protection Mitigation Program

The Department of Local Affairs launched the Wind and Wildfire Home Protection Mitigation Program. This program encourages incorporating disaster mitigation measures while rebuilding. It is eligible for owners of a primary residence (at the time of the disaster and application) impacted by a state declared disaster since 2018, including the Marshall Fire and Straight Line Wind event. It is an extension of the State of Colorado Housing Recovery Program.

Marshall ROC Announces New Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Marshall ROC, the Marshall Fire Long Term Recovery Group, has named Jeri Curry to serve as the organization’s Executive Director. Marshall ROC works with its members and partners to help coordinate and deliver resources to the Marshall Fire and Windstorm survivor community. Ms. Curry has served as a volunteer in the role of Marshall ROC Co-Chair since March 2022. As Executive Director, Curry will be responsible for communications, fundraising, donor relations, managing government and community partnerships, Marshall ROC program development, and working with Recovery Navigators to identify and help serve the needs of survivors.

Rotary Clubs Contribute $153,000 to Marshall Fire Recovery Efforts 

Rotary District 5450 representatives will present a check for $153,373 to a consortium of Marshall Fire community organizations currently helping with the recovery and the community-wide rebuilding efforts.

Marshall Fire Recovery Center Offers Community Central Point of Contact for Disaster Survivors

On Dec. 30, around 1,000 structures were destroyed in the Marshall fire. At the time coordinated efforts pulled resources to help people with immediate concerns. Beginning Oct. 31, a new resource will emerge to tackle the longer-term effects of the fire

Marshall ROC Marshall Fire Recovery Center Community Open House & Ribbon Cutting

The MROC Marshall Fire Recovery Center is a centralized location dedicated to expediting the access and delivery of disaster related support, services and resources to fire survivors in Superior, Louisville and Unincorporated Boulder County as they navigate the complexity of their recovery. “We are excited to see this multi-organizational effort come together to help restore our community and support our neighbors as they continue to recover and rebuild their lives from the devastating fire,” said Ben Edelstein, Marshall ROC Board of Directors Co-Chair.
